CanSkate $400 ($450 after September 15)
CanSkate is a dynamic learn-to-skate program that focuses on fun, participation and basic skill development. Based on Sport Canada’s long term athlete development (LTAD) principles, CanSkate centers on physical literacy and the fundamental skills needed to take part in any ice sport or to skate as a recreational activity.
CanSkate is for school aged children. Participants must be able to skate unassisted forwards and backwards and get upon their own. CanSkate is tentatively scheduled to run Mondays and Thursdays 4:45 - 5:30 from November - March. There is no CanSkate during school holidays.
PreCanPower Skating $400 ($450 after September 15)
PreCanPower is for hockey players who are just beginning and have some skating skills. It is recommended that skaters have taken PreCanSkate. They should be able to skate on their own, stop and get up by themselves. PreCanPower will provide hockey players with the basic skills to play hockey.
PreCanPower is tentatively scheduled to run Mondays and Thursdays 4:45 - 5:30 from November - March. There is no PreCanPower during school holidays.
GLAA Discount - Skaters who have skated at least one season with the GLSC and are registered for minor hockey for the 2023-24 season: $350 (2 days/week) $240 (1 day/week)
PreCanSkate $325 ($350 after September 15)
PreCanSkate is for beginners, generally preschool age. This program is for children who have little to no experience skating and wish to learn to skate to prepare themselves for hockey or figure skating or just to skate recreationally.
PreCanSkate is tentatively scheduled to run Mondays and Thursdays 5:00 - 5:30 from November - March. There is no PreCanSkate during school holidays.
Rising Stars $425 ($475 after September 15)
Rising Stars is geared towards skaters who are in the upper levels of CanSkate who are interested in moving on to StarSkate.
Rising Stars is tentatively scheduled to run Sundays 11:00-11:45 (mid October - March) and Mondays and Thursdays 4:00-4:45 (November - March). There is limited ice during school holidays.
StarSkate $525 ($575 after September 15)
STARSkate offers opportunities for skaters of all ages to develop fundamental figure skating skills in the areas of ice dance, skating skills, free skate and interpretive skating. Unique in Canada, this program teaches figure skating skills in a group and/or private lesson format in a progressive and sequential manner and includes specifically designed awards and incentives. Skaters have the opportunity to take Skate Canada Tests through a nationally standardized testing system.
StarSkate is tentatively scheduled to run Sundays 9:30-11:45 (mid October - March) and Mondays and Thursdays 3:30-4:45 (November - March). There is limited ice during school holidays.
